Category: Guides

  • Some Animon in LumenTale: Memories of Trey won’t just wander across your path โ€” they hide behind rare weather, day/night windows, dungeon-only spawn tables, or entire story completions. This guide covers every category of rare spawn and how to hunt each one.

โœจ Lost Animon (the “Shiny” System)

Lost Animon are the game’s rare variants โ€” but unlike other games’ recolors, they’re full redesigns with distinct forms, framed in lore as believed-extinct versions of the species. They still count as the same species in your AniWiki.

    How to hunt them:

    • ๐Ÿ”Š Listen for the sparkle. A Lost spawn announces itself with a distinctive sparkling, shiny sound in the overworld โ€” when you hear it, stop and search. Full detail, including every documented Lost form and what the encounter rates really are, is in our Lost (Shiny) Animon guide.
    • ๐Ÿƒ Collect art cards. Collectible art cards raise the Lost spawn odds for the specific species on the card.
    • ๐Ÿ”ฎ Mystical Relic rebirth. Sacrificing three Animon of the same species in a rebirth gives a 1/100 chance the reborn Animon emerges as a Lost variant.
    • โšช Lost Bilia. A dedicated Bilia for rare encounters โ€” keep a few stocked so a failed catch never wastes the find.

Dozens of Lost variants exist at launch (the five starter lines are fully covered โ€” including Mewaii, Maidelly and Megamitosa โ€” plus Lampecko, which comes free with the Deluxe/Lumen editions). Not every species has one yet, and no exact spawn percentage has been confirmed by the community.

    ๐ŸŒฆ๏ธ Weather & Time Spawns

Talea runs a full day/night cycle and ten weather states: Clear, Harsh Sun, Rain, Heavy Rain, Sandstorm, Hail, Rainbow, Fog, Snow, and Ashes Rain. Certain Animon only appear under specific conditions, some species are night-only โ€” and the rarest weather, Rainbow, gates one of the game’s trickiest evolutions (see Minube below). Rare species also tend to live in dungeons rather than the open world, so clear caves and interiors when a zone’s overworld seems tapped out.

    ๐Ÿพ Notable Rare Hunts

    Chagma (#107) โ€” the Battle-Only Rare

Chagma (Sereum, Chakra type) doesn’t appear as a normal overworld spawn โ€” it turns up as a rare encounter inside battles, most reliably in Area 02 near the lower raised area left of the Grass Holoken Power object (it also shows in Areas 03, 05 and the Center Area at higher levels). Its evolution is performance-based and worth planning before you grind:

    • Land 5 critical hits in a single battle โ†’ evolves toward Gongbog (Felicis/Chakra)
    • Miss 5 times in a single battle โ†’ evolves toward Natmiss (Mestus/Chakra)
    • Counters reset every battle โ€” commit to one path per fight.

    Minube ร— 6 โ†’ Chromaura โ€” the Rainbow Evolution

Six color variants of Minube (Aura/Sereum) spawn across Talea:

    VariantLocation
    ๐ŸŸก YellowCave in Area 06
    ๐ŸŸข GreenTemple Underground, Memorenia City
    ๐Ÿฉท PinkAeolyc Islands
    ๐ŸŸ  OrangeDarkwood Forest
    ๐Ÿ”ต BlueSuvius Peak
    ๐Ÿ”ด RedCrimson Cavern, Costa Linda

To evolve Chromaura, you need all six Minube in your active party during Rainbow weather โ€” rare and random, so either area-hop until the rainbow icon appears top-left, or take the shortcut: the side quest “Singing in the Rainbow” (see our full Rainbow Weather guide) (unlocked after the Paradine City main quest) guarantees Rainbow weather. โš ๏ธ Chromaura inherits the stats and level of the Minube you choose โ€” and all six Minube are consumed permanently.

    Toypette Shapes

The Data-type Toypette family comes in multiple shape variants (Cubishape, Rotoshape, Trigoshape and more) found around Voltar, with a special evolution into Anizord. Shape-specific spawn conditions are still being documented by the community.

    ๐Ÿ† Catchable Bosses (Legendary Rematches)

The giant story bosses become catchable โ€” but only after you finish both the Mythos and Logos storylines and reach Magnolia. Their encounters then reappear around Talea, and on your second victory the boss appears automatically in your most recently used Anispace storage box โ€” no catch mechanic, no Bilia needed.

How to actually beat them the first time: see the Boss Weakness Guide.

    ๐ŸŽฏ Rare-Hunting Checklist

    1. Play with sound on โ€” the Lost sparkle cue is your best signal.
    2. Check dungeons and caves, not just the overworld.
    3. Note the current weather before writing off a zone as “empty.”
    4. Weaken targets below 50% HP and apply Stun before throwing โ€” and use the right Bilia (Lost Bilia for variants, attribute-matched Bilia otherwise). Full technique in How to Catch Animon.
    5. Collect art cards for any species whose Lost variant you’re chasing.

Track every species’ typing and evolution in the full Animon Dex.

  • Rainbow weather is the rarest weather condition in LumenTale: Memories of Trey โ€” and the only one that gates an evolution outright. If you are chasing Chromaura, you cannot skip it. Here is how to find a rainbow, what it does in battle, and the quest that guarantees one.

    ๐ŸŒˆ What Rainbow Weather Is

Rainbow weather is a rare condition that can appear in any area of the world map. While it is active it buffs every Animon in battle, and it is a hard requirement for two specific evolutions. There is no way to force it through normal play โ€” but there is a side quest that guarantees it (see below).

How to tell a rainbow is active

    • A rainbow appears in the top-left corner of the screen and stays there for the rest of the in-game day.
    • The weather symbol beside the minimap also shows the rainbow indicator.

    How to make one appear

Rainbow weather spawns randomly with no guarantee of where. The practical method is to hop between areas and check the indicator each time. Saving and reloading also helps, so keep a save handy and reroll rather than walking laps.

    โš”๏ธ Rainbow Weather Effects

While a rainbow is up, all Animon โ€” including enemies โ€” receive these buffs:

    Buffed statEffect while active
    AccuracyImproved for all Animon
    HealingImproved for all Animon
Critical hit chanceHigher for all Animon

Because enemies are buffed too, a rainbow is not a free win โ€” it is a swingier fight. The crit buff in particular cuts both ways.

๐ŸŽซ The Guaranteed Rainbow: “Singing in the Rainbow”

If area-hopping isn’t working, there is a shortcut. The side quest “Singing in the Rainbow” guarantees rainbow weather on completion.

    • Unlock: finish the main quest in Paradine City.
    • Where: the Lumen Barracks, behind the Stadium.
    • Who: talk to Cinque, standing beside Elio.

โš ๏ธ The catch: the quest asks you to hit Moka with specific elements, drawn from Water, Electric, Fire, Aura and Ice Holoken powers. The elements requested are drawn at random, so in practice you can often finish it without owning all five โ€” and the Ice Holoken is post-game only. If Ice comes up and you don’t have it, reload and reroll the request.

    ๐Ÿ”ฎ Minube ร— 6 โ†’ Chromaura

This is the headline reason to care about rainbows. Evolving Chromaura requires all six colours of Minube in your active party during rainbow weather.

    1. Collect all six Minube: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue and Purple.
    2. Put all six in your party โ€” Minube sitting in the Anidex box will not count and the prompt won’t trigger.
    3. Get into an area with rainbow weather.
    4. Select any one of the six to evolve. Whichever you pick, Chromaura inherits that Minube’s stats and level โ€” so choose your strongest.

โš ๏ธ All six Minube are consumed. You lose the entire set to gain one Chromaura, so finish levelling your chosen Minube before you evolve.

๐Ÿ’ฅ Chagma โ†’ Gongbog: Use the Crit Buff

Chagma evolves into Gongbog by landing 5 critical hits in a single battle โ€” a genuinely fiddly condition. Rainbow weather raises crit chance for everyone, which makes this dramatically easier. Line the two up rather than grinding it under clear skies.

Chagma has a second, opposite branch worth knowing: missing 5 times in a single battle evolves it into Natmiss instead. Rainbow weather boosts accuracy, so if Natmiss is your goal, hunt it in anything but a rainbow.

    โ“ Rainbow Weather FAQ

Can I force rainbow weather without the quest?
Not reliably. Area-hopping and save-reloading are the only methods until “Singing in the Rainbow” is available.

    How long does it last?
Once an area has rainbow weather, it holds for the rest of that in-game day.

    Are there other rainbow-gated evolutions?
Only Minube โ†’ Chromaura requires it outright. Chagma โ†’ Gongbog doesn’t require a rainbow โ€” it just gets much easier under one.

Do rainbows change which Animon spawn?
Weather and time of day do affect spawns generally โ€” see our Rare Animon Spawns guide. No rainbow-exclusive spawn is documented.

More evolution conditions in our evolution guide, or browse the full Animon Dex.

Sourcing note: cross-verified between Game8 and The Games Wiki. The six Minube colours follow this site’s own dex entries; one source lists the sixth colour as Pink rather than Purple.

  • Early in LumenTale: Memories of Trey the game asks you to go north or south, and the answer decides whether you see Logos or Mythos first. It looks like a fork-in-the-road decision. It isn’t. Here is what the split actually changes โ€” and what it doesn’t.

    ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ The Short Answer

Mythos and Logos are the two regions that make up Talea, and also the two factions that grew out of a war of succession โ€” the old emperor died without naming an heir between his twin sons, and the empire split. Logos is north. Mythos is south.

Crucially: the choice is sequencing, not commitment. You reach both regions either way. Nothing is permanently missed.

    Logos (North)Mythos (South)
    IdentityTechnology, progress, reformTradition, ancestry, ritual
FeelModern cities, entertainment, idol culture, advanced researchOlder customs, slower pacing, an older visual language
    BiomesTechnological cities, snowForest, swamp
Types you meet earlyElectric, Ice, DataGeo, Grass, Virus
    EmblemSeptemblemMeridemblem

    ๐Ÿ™๏ธ Cities on Each Side

Mythos (south) runs Iris Hamlet (your home town, no squadron) โ†’ Mirasilva (The Great Tree Town) โ†’ Costa Linda (City of the Sun, squadron leader Nipo) โ†’ Altipetra (City of Fire) โ†’ Memorenia (City of Tradition). Suvius Peak and a cave route between Costa Linda and Altipetra fill out the map.

โš ๏ธ One caveat on that chain: the wikis are not fully consistent about which city hosts which quest โ€” see the note in our Emblems guide, where the same Costa Linda / Altipetra mapping affects where the Meridemblem is handed over.

Logos (north) is less thoroughly documented. The quest chain runs City of Inventors โ†’ The City of Entertainment โ†’ The Lagoon City โ†’ The City of Progress. Voltar is the entertainment city (captain Anne), and Magnolia is a quieter town with a squadron led by Max. Which city names attach to the other northern quests isn’t documented yet.

๐Ÿ”“ What “Not Locked Out” Actually Means

You can walk into the opposite region right away โ€” but only as far as its first city. Beyond that, two things stop you:

    • The world map stays fogged on the side you didn’t choose.
    • You can’t sign up for the Lumen Squadron battle in that first city โ€” and squadron wins are what grant Holoken Powers, the element infusions that clear roadblocks further in.

So it’s a soft gate built on progression items rather than a hard branch. Costa Linda’s squadron grants Water; Voltar’s grants Electric.

๐Ÿงฌ What the Split Changes Mechanically

    1. Your starter’s final evolution

Each route hands you one emblem, and each emblem unlocks one of two final forms for every starter line at Level 40. Since emblems are reusable and both are eventually obtainable, this is a branch per individual Animon rather than a save-file decision โ€” raise two and take one down each path. Full breakdown in our Emblems guide.

    2. Regional variant Animon

Several species exist in two regional forms with different typings, stats, lore and evolutions. On this site they carry a [Mythos] or [Logos] tag; the wikis label the same creatures (Southern) and (Northern) respectively.

    SpeciesMythos / SouthLogos / North
MeloticaMelotica [Mythos] โ†’ Meloquinia (Lv 24)Melotica [Logos] โ†’ Doryogun (Lv 24)
CanabbleCanabble [Mythos] โ†’ Foiequack (Lv 25)Canabble [Logos] โ†’ Birchette (Lv 25)
RushogRushog [Mythos] โ†’ Volcabeko (Lv 36, Area 12)Rushog [Logos] โ†’ Blizzbull (Lv 36, Area 25)
CimitrickCimitrick [Mythos] โ†’ Venomera (Mystical Relic)Cimitrick [Logos] โ†’ Scaraburst (defeat Cimitrick [Logos])
LobstrikeLobstrike [Mythos] โ€” no evolutionLobstrike [Logos] โ€” no evolution

Beyond the variants, each region has species that simply don’t spawn on the other side โ€” so a full dex needs both halves of the map regardless of which you start with.

    3. Which bosses you meet first

The southern route front-loads Dualine at Baza’s palace in Mirasilva, a giant Blumester at Costa Linda’s harbour, and Morsiver in Altipetra’s volcano. See our boss weakness guide for counters.

๐Ÿค” So Which Should You Pick?

No source recommends one over the other, and neither is framed as the villain. There’s no documented difficulty, reward or pacing advantage either way. Pick on:

    • Types you want early. Electric/Ice/Data in the north, Geo/Grass/Virus in the south โ€” check what your starter is weak to.
    • Which final evolution you want first. Look up your starter’s two finals and go get that emblem.
    • Aesthetics. Neon cities and snow, or forests, swamps and ritual.

    โ“ Mythos vs Logos FAQ

    Is the choice permanent?
No. It only sets the order. Both regions are reachable in a single playthrough.

    Is Mythos/Logos a creature type?
No โ€” it’s a region. The [Mythos] and [Logos] tags on dex entries mark where that form comes from, not a typing or attribute.

Can I get both emblems in one save?
Yes โ€” you just get the second one considerably later.

Do I need both regions for a complete dex?
Yes. Regional variants and region-exclusive species make both halves mandatory for full completion.

New to the game? Start with our beginner’s guide, or browse the full Animon Dex.

Sourcing note: cross-verified between Game8 and The Games Wiki. Region lore and the southern city chain are documented on a single wiki; evolution targets for regional variants come from the other. Conflicts are flagged rather than smoothed over.

  • LumenTale Emblems Guide: Meridemblem, Septemblem & All 10 Starter Finals

There are exactly two emblems in LumenTale: Memories of Trey โ€” the Meridemblem and the Septemblem โ€” and between them they decide the final form of every starter Animon in the game. Here is where each one comes from, how they work, and all ten final evolutions they unlock.

    ๐Ÿ… The Two Emblems

    EmblemRouteBranch it unlocksConsumed on use?
MeridemblemSouth โ€” MythosMythos final evolutionsNo โ€” reusable
SeptemblemNorth โ€” LogosLogos final evolutionsNo โ€” reusable

That “reusable” column matters more than anything else on this page. Neither emblem is consumed. As long as it sits in your bag, you can use the same emblem to evolve every eligible Animon you raise โ€” so you never have to choose which one creature gets the upgrade.

๐Ÿ“ How to Get Each Emblem

    Septemblem (North / Logos)

Awarded on the northern route during The City of Entertainment quest. Win the squadron match in Voltar, and Liza approaches you afterwards to hand over the Septemblem.

    Meridemblem (South / Mythos)

Awarded on the southern route at the end of the City of the Sun quest.

โš ๏ธ Sourcing caveat: the wikis disagree on the city. One places the handover in Altipetra, but the City of the Sun quest is elsewhere mapped to Costa Linda, with Altipetra belonging to the City of Fire quest. We have not been able to resolve which is correct, so treat the quest name as reliable and the city as unconfirmed.

    Can you get both?

Yes. The north/south choice decides which emblem you receive first, not which one you receive. You are never locked out of the other region โ€” you simply reach the second emblem considerably later. See our Mythos vs Logos guide for how the route split actually works.

    ๐Ÿงฌ All 10 Emblem Evolutions

Every starter follows the same shape: plain level-up to stage two at Level 18, then Level 40 plus an emblem for the final form. The emblem you use decides which of the two finals you get.

StarterStage 2 (Lv 18)Meridemblem final (Lv 40)Septemblem final (Lv 40)
    MewaiiMaidellyMegamitosaDolegamii
    VortailFurtexWeaphoonFursazen
    OzelashKouzearByazevoltZenicore
    SalabelVilenderHorrogreGoldrago
    QuecchaQuequatorBaranguMeterier

The emblem is used on the stage-two form, not the base starter. Unsure which line to commit to? Our best starter ranking breaks down all five.

๐ŸŽฏ What This Means in Practice

    • The branch is per-Animon, not per-save. Because emblems are reusable and both are eventually obtainable, you can raise two of the same starter and take one down each branch.
    • Nothing is permanent at the route choice. Picking north or south only changes the order in which you unlock the branches.
    • Don’t rush to Level 40. If you want the other branch first, hold the stage-two form until the second emblem is in hand.
    • Emblems do nothing else. Across the full roster, these two items appear only in these ten evolutions โ€” no stat effect, no other use is documented.

    โ“ Emblem FAQ

Do I need to farm multiple emblems?
No. One of each is enough forever โ€” they are not consumed.

Are there other emblems besides these two?
No. The item list contains only the Meridemblem and Septemblem. Other evolution items exist โ€” Lampalite, Candleshroom, Crimson Horn, Lustrostar, Zord Head and the Mystical Relic โ€” but none are emblems.

Can non-starter Animon use an emblem?
Not per any documented evolution. The emblems gate the five starter lines only.

    Which branch is stronger?
No source ranks one branch above the other. Compare the final forms’ stat spreads on their dex pages and pick on typing and team fit โ€” our team comp guide covers how to slot them in.

Full evolution conditions for every species in our evolution guide, or browse the Animon Dex.

  • LumenTale Lost Animon Guide: All 20 Lost (Shiny) Forms & How to Find Them

Lost Animon are LumenTale: Memories of Trey‘s take on shinies โ€” but they are not recolors. A Lost Animon is a fully redesigned form of the same species, and they are rare enough that most players finish the story without ever seeing one in the wild. Here is what is actually confirmed about them, what is still only player-reported, and every Lost form documented so far.

โœจ What Is a Lost Animon?

A Lost Animon is an extremely rare variant of a normal species. It still counts as the same species in your AniWiki, but it has an entirely different design and colour scheme rather than a palette swap โ€” in several cases the silhouette itself changes.

In Talea’s own lore, Lost Animon are believed to be extinct, which is why researchers treat a confirmed sighting as an event rather than a coincidence.

๐Ÿ‘‚ How to Find One: Listen, Don’t Look

Play with sound on. A Lost Animon in the area announces itself with a distinctive sparkling chime in the background audio before you ever see it. If you hear it, stop moving and sweep the area โ€” the spawn is nearby and it will despawn if you leave.

Lost Animon appear in the overworld like any other spawn. According to a developer post on the game’s Steam discussions, you can catch them straight from the overworld with the Holoken without entering battle โ€” which removes the risk of accidentally knocking one out. Our catching guide covers Holoken technique in full.

Checking which species have a Lost form

Players report that the AniWiki’s third filter (the star icon) lists fully scanned Animon that have a Lost form, so you can confirm a target exists before committing hours to hunting it. This one is community-reported rather than documented on a wiki โ€” treat it as a tip, not gospel.

    ๐Ÿ“‹ Every Documented Lost Animon

Twenty Lost forms are confirmed and catalogued โ€” and they are not a random assortment. They are the five starter lines in full: each base starter, its stage-two form, and both of its branched final evolutions. They were revealed together in an official showcase.

    Starter lineBaseStage 2Mythos finalLogos final
    Mewaii lineMewaiiMaidellyMegamitosaDolegamii
    Vortail lineVortailFurtexWeaphoonFursazen
    Ozelash lineOzelashKouzearByazevoltZenicore
    Salabel lineSalabelVilenderHorrogreGoldrago
    Queccha lineQuecchaQuequatorBaranguMeterier

These 20 are only the documented set. One wiki reports that the developers confirmed 76 Lost Animon exist at launch, and players have posted catches outside the starter lines โ€” a Lost Mollupom among them. So the list above is a floor, not a ceiling. New to the starters? See our best starter ranking.

Separately, Lampecko‘s Lost form is granted outright with the Deluxe and Lumen editions rather than hunted.

    ๐ŸŽฒ Encounter Rates โ€” What’s Actually Known

Straight answer: no official Lost encounter rate has ever been published, and neither major wiki documents one. Every number circulating comes from players. They are worth knowing, but hold them loosely โ€” the figures below disagree with each other.

    MethodReported oddsConfidence
    Base wild encounter1 in 5,000 / 1 in 8,000 / 1 in 8,192 depending on who you askPlayer-reported, contradictory
Area 05 camp buff (30 minutes after clearing the camp)Around 1 in 500Player-reported by two independent posters
Mystical Relic rebirth (sacrifice 3 of the same species)Around 1 in 100Player-reported by two independent posters

โš ๏ธ Be sceptical of the 1/8,192 figure in particular โ€” it is the classic shiny rate from another well-known monster-collecting series, which is exactly the kind of number players assume rather than measure.

    What is documented

    • Art cards. Collecting a species’ art card raises your chance of encountering that species โ€” including its Lost variant. No number is attached, but the effect itself is documented.
    • Lost Bilia. A special Bilia tied to rarer encounters, bundled with launch-window bonuses. What it does mechanically has never been spelled out, so don’t assume it multiplies Lost odds.
    • Mystical Relic rebirth. The relic is a real, documented item that rebirths an Animon by consuming others โ€” and the rebirthed result can emerge Lost. The odds attached to it are the player-reported part.

    ๐ŸŽฏ A Practical Hunting Routine

    1. Pick your target species and confirm it has a Lost form via the AniWiki star filter.
    2. Collect that species’ art card first โ€” it is the only documented odds booster.
    3. Clear the Area 05 camp and hunt inside the 30-minute buff window.
    4. Headphones on. Area-hop, pause, listen for the sparkle before you commit to a sweep.
    5. When one appears, throw from the overworld rather than starting a battle.
    6. If wild hunting stalls, farm duplicates and go the Mystical Relic route instead.

    โ“ Lost Animon FAQ

    Are Lost Animon stronger?
No stat difference is documented. They are a cosmetic rarity โ€” the value is in the design and the hunt.

Do Lost variants have different Hidden Types?
Nothing suggests typing changes. A rebirth-produced Lost variant keeps the Hidden Type it already had โ€” see our Hidden Types guide.

Does evolving a Lost Animon keep it Lost?
Every form in the five starter lines has its own Lost design, which strongly implies the variant carries through evolution. It is not explicitly documented, so verify in-game before sacrificing anything.

Are Lost Animon harder to catch once found?
No Lost-specific catch penalty is documented. Standard catching rules apply.

Also see our Rare Animon Spawns guide for weather-gated and time-gated rare hunts, or browse the full Animon Dex.

Sourcing note: mechanics above are cross-checked against Game8 and The Games Wiki. Encounter-rate figures are player-reported from Steam community discussions and are labelled as such โ€” they are not official.

  • LumenTale Boss Weakness Guide: Every Boss, Weakness & Counter in Order

Every major city in LumenTale: Memories of Trey throws a giant Animon boss and a Lumen Match squadron captain at you โ€” and because type effectiveness is per-species, walking in blind gets expensive. Here’s every boss in story order with weaknesses, resistances, and counters. Remember the universal tech: scan bosses early (1โ€“2 scans reveal weaknesses), and field Animon that resist the boss’s attack types to starve its TP and deny bonus actions.

๐ŸŒฒ Prologue โ€” Scarlet Woods & Iris Hamlet

    Toxigall (Lv 8)

Mini-boss leading the Smellwing pack in Scarlet Woods. A warm-up โ€” bring anything that doesn’t fold to Virus/Demon damage.

Iotamor (Lv 11) โ€” Demon (Hidden: Anomalous, Ice)

    • Weak to: Electric, Aura, Geo
    • Counters: Ozelash and Mollupom shred it โ€” one big reason Ozelash tops our starter rankings.

Pymant (Lv 14) โ€” the First Real Wall

    • Weak to: Water, Electric, Demon, Geo
    • Attacks with: Slicing Wind (Aura) and Blaze (Fire) โ€” and it acts twice per turn once its TP hits 2, so bring Aura/Fire-resistant Animon to starve it.
    • Counters: Ozelash or Queccha, plus Mollupom, Deniuli, Owaxle. Avoid Flowende and Almyuna.

Dena โ€” First Squadron Leader (Area 1 Lumen Camp)

Her star is a Mollupom โ€” Electric moves win again.

    โš™๏ธ Logos Route (North)

Knequital (Lv 20, 3 health bars) โ€” Aura / Sereum โ€” Arsilia Courthouse

    • Weak to: Geo (per walkthrough testing)
    • Its Draw quirk makes it stronger as the fight drags, and below half HP it charges a big attack โ€” burst it down rather than turtling.

    Bucky โ€” Arsilia Stadium Captain

Fought after three back-to-back Lumen matches; your team is fully healed before him. Bring your widest move coverage.

Blumester, Logos form (Lv 26, 4 health bars) โ€” Voltar City Generator

    • Weak to: Virus  |  Resists: Fire, Geo
    • โš ๏ธ Below half HP it gains Diamond Spike โ€” an instant-KO move. Keep no one at low HP and finish fast.
    • Reward: Electric Holoken affinity.

    Anne โ€” Voltar Captain

    Recommended Lv 27+.

Nuclheart (Lv 29) โ€” Virus โ€” Paradine Landing (Edenheart)

    • Weak to: Ice
    • Flanked by three self-resurrecting goo Animon โ€” ignore the adds and focus the boss.
    • Reward: Virus Holoken infusion.

    Elio โ€” Paradine Captain

Recommended Lv 32+; his team punishes Virus-type Animon, so bench them for this one.

Arct-Rex (Lv 32) โ€” Ice โ€” Glacial Peak Depths (Speranova)

    • Weak to: Geo, Chakra  |  Resists: Virus, Water
    • Recommended Lv 36+.

Kentaress (Lv 36) โ€” Data / Sereum โ€” Cathedral Finale (Logos)

    • Weak to: Electric  |  Resists: Virus, Geo
    • The Luminary’s true form and the climax of the northern route (you’ll fight the human antagonist Kines along the way).

    ๐ŸŒ‹ Mythos Route (South)

    Rezza & Mango โ€” Mirasilva (Baza’s Palace)

Trial fights before the chamber; Mango rematches later as the stadium finals captain with a stronger team.

    Dualine (Lv 20+, 2 phases) โ€” Grass / Felicis โ€” Baza’s Chamber

    • Weak to: Ice, Chakra, Fire  |  Resists: Virus
    • Kit: Aromasynthesis (self-heal every turn), Shards Rain (AoE), Mud Trap (team Agility down), and Nature’s Wrath โ€” a colossal Grass AoE. Bring Geo/Grass-resistant Animon.
    • Counters: Deniuli or Fulgaze (Fire), Sapsy, Mollupom/Kerocrack/Owaxle with Ice or Fire moves; Cadedro’s Congestion debuff (Attack + Agility down) blunts both phases.

Blumester, Mythos form โ€” Costa Linda Docks

    • Weak to: Grass, Electric, Demon  |  Resists: Water, Fire, Virus
    • Reward: Water Holoken infusion; the Costa Linda captain fight after it awards the Meridemblem (needed to evolve Maidelly into Megamitosa).

Morsiver (fought twice) โ€” Fire / Horrens โ€” Altipetra

    • Weak to: Aura, Chakra, Water  |  Resists: Anomalous, Geo  |  Immune to: Demon
    • First fight at the Ascension Ritual Stadium (4 health bars), then a much stronger rematch in the Volcanic Depths.

    Elodie โ€” Altipetra Captain

Healing-heavy team with a devastating Pinouflage โ€” you must burst her Animon down within a turn cycle or she heals it all back.

Katamos โ€” Lost Animon โ€” Aeolyc Islands Temple (Memorenia)

    • Weak to: Virus  |  Resists: Ancient  |  Immune to: Aura

    Primalong โ€” Ancient/Grass/Geo โ€” Temple (Prince Mars’s true form)

    • Weak to: Ice, Data
    • The problem: it spams Turbo Vortex, stacking +2 Agility until it’s nearly unhittable, plus Excisio (multi-target) and Plus Ultra (stat boost).
    • Counters: Agility-reset debuffs (Mud Trap), Ancient-damage reflectors (Bibrickle, Armansient), Wicedom’s Arctic Mirror, multi-hit moves like Stacking Strike to clip the last sliver of HP. Carrigante survives everything here but lacks Ice/Data offense โ€” pair it with a dedicated damage dealer.

    Damame โ€” Memorenia Captain

The strongest undefeated captain in Mythos โ€” fights alone. Full coverage and a healer recommended.

    ๐Ÿ Finale โ€” Magnolia

    Blanco (first fight) โ€” Unwinnable

Scripted loss outside AARI HQ โ€” don’t burn items. Inside the HQ, free the vice-captains: each rescue lowers Blanco’s Animon defense in the final fight.

Blanco (final, 2 phases) + Eterjian

    • Phase 1: his six Animon. Phase 2: he summons Eterjian โ€” weak to Electric and Geo, resists Fire and Ice, and spreads its attack damage across multiple Animon; Aura-resistant team members trivialize it.

Majetsune โ€” FINAL BOSS (Lv 65, 8 health bars)

    • Weak to: Ancient, Aura  |  Resists: Data
    • Its main attack, Glitch_Wave, is Data-type โ€” stack Data-resistant Animon and bring your team to Lv 70+.

    โ™ป๏ธ After the Credits

Finish both routes and the giant bosses become catchable in rematches โ€” they deposit straight into your Anispace storage after a second win. Locations and typings in our Rare Animon Spawns guide, and team prep in Best Team Comp.

  • Best Team Comp in LumenTale: Early, Mid & Endgame Team Building Guide

Team building in LumenTale: Memories of Trey doesn’t work like other monster catchers โ€” there’s no universal type chart, four of your six Animon fight at once, and every attack spends from a shared resource pool. Here’s how to actually build a winning squad, plus concrete picks for every stage of the game.

๐Ÿง  The Five Rules of LumenTale Team Building

    1. Coverage beats memorization

Type effectiveness in LumenTale is defined per species, not per type โ€” two Animon with identical typings can have different weaknesses. That means “coverage” doesn’t mean memorizing a chart; it means carrying moves of many different types and scanning enemies (1โ€“2 scans reveal weaknesses) to find what sticks. The community tier lists reward exactly this: the S-tier Animon all carry skills spanning 3โ€“5 types and/or multi-target moves.

    2. Run 6, fight 4, everyone levels

Your team holds six Animon with four active in battle โ€” and all six earn EXP. Use the two backline slots for situational picks without worrying about them falling behind. (Leveling tips: EXP & Leveling Guide.)

    3. Mix your Attributes

The five Attributes (see Attributes Explained) are activated manually by spending extra SP on top of a move’s cost โ€” and there’s no advantage triangle, so the win comes from mixing effects:

    AttributeEmotionActivated EffectTeam Role
๐Ÿ’š FelicisJoyHeals allies slightly after attackingSustain
๐Ÿ’™ MestusSadnessSpends % of own HP for bonus damageBurst
    โค๏ธ FurorAngerFlat skill-damage increaseDPS
    ๐Ÿ’œ HorrensFearNeutralizes resistances / forces super-effectiveWallbreaker
๐Ÿฉถ SereumCalmGreatly raises crit chance; crits build TPEconomy

A team stacking one attribute has one tool; a team mixing four has four. Horrens deserves special mention โ€” when nothing on your team hits a boss’s weakness, a Horrens activation punches through anyway.

    4. Respect the SP/TP economy

Skills and attribute activations draw on your team’s SP, while TP builds toward bonus actions โ€” landing crits and weakness hits fills TP for your whole team. It cuts both ways: bosses build TP too (Pymant acts twice per turn once its TP fills), so fielding Animon that resist a boss’s attack types starves the boss of TP. Sereum attackers and weakness-hitting move coverage are your TP engine.

    5. Spend your Stat Points

Stat growth is manual โ€” 3 points per level, assigned by you, freely respeccable. A “weak” Animon is often just an unallocated one. Respec toward the role you’re using it for.

    ๐ŸŒฑ Best Early-Game Team (Prologue โ†’ Arsilia)

    AnimonTypingWhy
Ozelash (starter)Electric / FurorThe best starter โ€” Electric hits both early bosses (Iotamor, Pymant) and squadron leader Dena’s Mollupom, and Electric Animon are scarce until past Arsilia City.
MollupomGeo (Hidden: Water)Learns Seismic Step (hits 3 enemies) and exploits the early bosses’ Geo weakness. Later evolves into S-tier Obsidedge.
OwaxleAnomalous/Fire/VirusMental Strike hits 3 targets; excellent coverage and solid defenses.
ToxigallVirus/DemonDemon coverage for the flex slot.

Also worth catching early: Pinchop, Boobat, Lampecko, and Almyuna. Picking a different starter? See Best Starter Animon โ€” just know Salabel struggles early because many early-game Animon resist Demon.

    ๐Ÿ™๏ธ Best Mid-Game Additions

    • Doryogun (Fire/Geo) โ€” the best speed-to-damage ratio in the mid game; a boss-killer, though weak at clearing crowds.
    • Birchette (Aura) โ€” strong if evolved before Voltar City.
    • Rainagon (Water/Geo, with Ancient coverage) โ€” fast and hard-hitting.

๐Ÿ‘‘ Best Endgame Team (Community S-Tier)

    AnimonTypingWhy It’s S-Tier
ObsidedgeWater/DemonSkills covering Water, Demon, Ice, Chakra and Ancient, with multi-target damage.
KlawllerWater/VirusObtainable early; its Hyperstrength quirk doubles Attack and Sp. Atk.
KonbianFire/DemonAdds Anomalous/Aura coverage plus crowd control.
TrepagatorVirus/DataOnly weak to Fire and Chakra; covers Virus/Data/Electric/Geo.
CarriganteAnomalous/GeoNearly immune to everything except Fire; deals Anomalous/Geo/Demon damage.
FlorencoGrass (support)The premier healer โ€” Aromasynthesis sustain keeps the squad standing.

Strong A-tier alternatives: Doryogun, Nefandle, Blizzbull, Luxecko (its Supercharge quirk generates bonus SP โ€” pure economy), Rainagon, and support specialist Therapix.

    ๐ŸŽฏ Situational Boss Picks

    • Cadedro โ€” its Congestion debuff lowers a boss’s Attack and Agility (clutch vs Dualine).
    • Bibrickle / Armansient โ€” reflect Ancient damage (great vs Primalong).
    • Wicedom โ€” Arctic Mirror for punishing physical spam.
    • Harpilia โ€” wins stat-boost races against buff-stacking bosses.

For every boss’s weaknesses and the exact counters, see our Boss Weakness Guide.

    ๐Ÿ“ Team-Building Checklist

    1. Four active slots: 2 damage dealers with different move-type spreads, 1 wallbreaker (Horrens or Sereum), 1 support/healer.
    2. Two bench slots: rotate in whatever hits the next boss’s weakness.
    3. At least three different Attributes across the active four.
    4. Prioritize multi-target moves (Seismic Step, Mental Strike) for wild packs and captain fights.
    5. Scan every new enemy โ€” per-species weaknesses mean the scan IS your type chart.

  • LumenTale Hidden Types Explained: How to Reveal & Use Hidden Typings

Every Animon in LumenTale: Memories of Trey has a visible main type โ€” but many are also carrying a second, concealed typing called a Hidden Type. Hidden Types change your matchups, expand your movepool, and in some cases are the only way to make an Animon evolve. Here’s exactly how the system works and how to use it.

    ๐Ÿ” What Are Hidden Types?

A Hidden Type is a potential secondary typing that most Animon species can carry, concealed until you reveal it through gameplay. Two things make LumenTale’s version unusual:

    • It’s per-individual, not per-species. The Hidden Type belongs to the individual creature. A species has a fixed pool of possible hidden typings, but any given wild Animon may or may not actually have one โ€” most wild Flowende are pure Grass, while some carry the Grassโ€“Chakra dual typing.
    • Not every species has one. Some Animon have no Hidden Type at all, while others can carry one of two possibilities โ€” Bonkey, for example, can hide either Fire or Chakra.

If you’re new to the type system itself, start with our Complete Type Chart & Weakness Guide โ€” and keep in mind LumenTale’s big twist: there is no universal type chart. Effectiveness is defined per species, which is exactly why revealing an individual’s Hidden Type matters so much.

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ How to Reveal a Hidden Type

There are three ways to surface a Hidden Type:

    1. Scan the enemy three times in battle. Each scan costs a turn. Scans one and two reveal weaknesses; the third scan reveals stats, the Hidden Type, and the evolution chart. This also completes the AniWiki entry, so it’s worth doing even for Animon you don’t plan to catch.
    2. Level the Animon up. Hidden Types can surface through leveling, typically announced by the Animon unlocking type-based moves that match its hidden typing.
    3. Inspect before you catch. You can check a wild Animon’s details in battle before throwing a Bilia to see whether that specific individual carries the Hidden Type โ€” do this if you’re hunting a dual-typed copy.

โš—๏ธ The Prismatype Item: Forcing a Hidden Type

Caught a great Animon that turned out to be monotype? The craftable Prismatype item grants/activates the Hidden Type on an Animon that was caught without one.

Prismatype RecipeWhere to Get the Materials
2ร— Anivite EXFrom larger Anivite Crystals (rarer); also purchasable in Altipetra on the Mythos route
10ร— PlasticFrom barrels, boxes, and Lumen Clubs
30ร— QuartzBreak Anivite Crystals using a Geo-type Animon

Craft it at any rest spot โ€” no recipe unlock is needed to start, and crafting it repeatedly unlocks the formal recipe. Crafting with Nada improves your success rate, and a “Great Success” doubles the output. One tip from veteran players: scan first, spend later. Confirm the Animon actually benefits from Hidden Type activation (or needs it to evolve) before burning the materials.

๐Ÿงฌ Hidden Types That Gate Evolution

Some Animon cannot evolve until their Hidden Type is revealed. Two confirmed cases:

    AnimonTypingEvolves IntoRequirement
MollupomGeo (Hidden: Water)ObsidedgeLevel 26 + Hidden Type (Water) revealed
TwinklerData (Hidden: Virus)SilverusLevel 36 + Hidden Type (Virus) revealed

If your Mollupom or Twinkler is stuck at its evolution level, it almost certainly needs its Hidden Type activated โ€” scan it, level it, or craft a Prismatype. For the full evolution system, see How to Evolve Your Animon.

๐Ÿ“‹ Known Hidden Typings (Confirmed So Far)

    AnimonMain TypeHidden Type Pool
    FlowendeGrassChakra
    SmellwingVirusDemon (only possibility)
BonkeyAnomalousFire or Chakra (one of two)
    MollupomGeoWater (required for evolution)
    TwinklerDataVirus (required for evolution)

This list grows as the community documents more species โ€” an estimated 23 Animon have Anomalous as either their main or hidden type alone, including Megamitosa, Owaxle, Dionybble, Skeletape, Venomera, and Iotamor.

โš”๏ธ Why Hidden Types Matter in Battle

    • Movepool: An Animon’s learnset usually draws from both its visible and hidden type, so a dual-typed individual has broader coverage.
    • Matchups: The Hidden Type alters overall effectiveness โ€” two individuals of the same species can take hits very differently. After a full scan, the battle UI shows a broken-shield icon for attacks the enemy is weak to, and a shield icon for what it resists.
    • Permanence: Once unlocked, a Hidden Type is preserved through Mystical Relic rebirth, so it carries into min-maxed endgame builds.

    โ“ Hidden Types FAQ

Do all Animon have a Hidden Type?
No. Some species have none, most have one possibility, and a few (like Bonkey) have a pool of two.

Is Anomalous the same thing as a Hidden Type?
No โ€” Anomalous is a normal element (paranormal/psychic phenomena), one of the game’s 13 types. It just happens to appear frequently as a hidden typing.

Can Lost (rare variant) Animon have different Hidden Types?
Nothing suggests Lost variants change typing โ€” a rebirth-produced Lost variant keeps the Hidden Type it already had. See our Rare Animon Spawns guide for how Lost variants work.

What’s the fastest way to check for one?
Scan three times in battle. It costs turns, but it permanently completes the AniWiki entry with stats, Hidden Type, and the evolution chart.

Browse the full Animon Dex for per-species stats, typings, and evolution details.

  • LumenTale EXP & Leveling Guide: Fastest Ways to Level Up + Stat Boosting

Leveling in LumenTale: Memories of Trey is unusual: the fastest EXP source in the game isn’t battling โ€” it’s throwing away your trash. This guide covers every EXP method, how stat growth actually works (it’s manual!), and every way to permanently boost your Animon’s stats.

โšก Every Way to Earn EXP

    1. Trash Can Recycling โ€” the Fastest EXP in the Game

City trash cans award EXP to your entire team when you discard items into them, and sorting correctly is the whole trick: putting a material in the matching bin awards significantly more EXP, while a misplaced item gives a mere 10 EXP.

    Bin ColorAccepts
    ๐ŸŸข GreenGlass
    ๐Ÿ”ต BluePlastic
    ๐Ÿ”ด RedOrganic
    ๐ŸŸก YellowMetals

Two caveats: trash cans have a region-based EXP cap (so you can’t get overpowered in the starting zone), and you should keep crafting and move-enhancement materials โ€” don’t recycle the Quartz and Anivite EX you’ll need for items like Prismatype. Dump the junk, keep the mats.

    2. Cooking: Riso del Bosco (1,000 EXP per Plate)

The recipe Riso del Bosco grants 1,000 EXP per use when fed to an Animon. Buy the recipe at city restaurants, stock ingredients, and you have a repeatable EXP source that works anywhere you can cook.

    3. Battling in High-Level Zones

Fighting above your weight yields huge EXP. Save first, then soften wild enemies before combat even starts by aiming preemptive hits in Animon Mode. Bonus: your whole squad benefits โ€” all six team members earn EXP from battles even though only four fight at a time, so nobody rots on the bench.

    4. Experience Bilia

Catch with an Experience Bilia and the Animon you catch receives a one-time EXP boost โ€” a nice head start for new recruits that joins them straight to your level range. (More catching tech in How to Catch Animon.)

๐Ÿ“ˆ How Stat Growth Actually Works (It’s Manual)

This trips up almost every new player: stats do not increase automatically when you level up. Instead:

    • Each level-up awards 3 Stat Points.
    • You assign them yourself among the six main stats: HP, Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk, Sp. Def, and Agility. Every 3 points invested raises the stat by 1 (occasionally 2).
    • An Animon whose points were never allocated will feel weak even at a high level โ€” if your team suddenly feels underpowered, check the Squad menu first.
    • Respec is free and unlimited โ€” reassign points anytime from the Squad menu or in Anispace, so experiment without fear.

Note that Luck sits outside the Stat Point system โ€” see below. For what each of the 7 stats does, see the Beginner’s Guide.

๐Ÿ’Ž IVs: The Hidden Growth Values

Each Animon also has innate values (IVs) shown as Roman numerals from N (none) to X (10) on the stat screen. Higher IVs mean better returns in that stat. IVs can be raised after catching via:

    • Mystical Relic inheritance โ€” the rebirth mechanic (below)
    • Food โ€” cooked meals and restaurant dishes
    • Anispace training equipment โ€” sport furniture (dumbbells, weights, boxing dummy) your Animon interact with at your base

    ๐Ÿ Stat-Boosting Food

    • Cooking at rest spots (the fountains in each area) with the right recipes permanently raises an Animon’s innate stats. Trey is the best cook of the three characters โ€” cook with him for the best success rate.
    • Restaurant meals raise the associated stat (or Luck) by roughly 1โ€“2 per meal. Example: Salame Imperiale costs 1,000 and raises Luck by 2.

๐Ÿ€ Luck: The Odd Stat Out

Luck (1โ€“10) affects critical hits and lucky events, and it doesn’t take Stat Points. It can be raised, though โ€” Luck-boosting restaurant meals like Salame Imperiale do it directly. One important wrinkle for min-maxers: Luck is not inherited through Mystical Relic rebirth, so fix Luck last, after your stat work is done.

๐Ÿ”ฎ Mystical Relic: Endgame Stat Fusion

The Mystical Relic rebirth lets you sacrifice up to 3 Animon into one. The reborn Animon:

    • Resets to its base evolution at level 1
    • Keeps the highest value of each base stat among itself and all sacrifices
    • Preserves its Hidden Type, affection, and learned moves (ability is rerolled; Luck is not carried)
    • Has a 1/100 chance of emerging as a Lost variant if the sacrifices are the same species

โš ๏ธ The game autosaves during this โ€” sacrifices are permanent and irreversible. Combined with the trash-can and Riso del Bosco methods above, re-leveling a reborn Animon is fast.

    โœ… Quick Leveling Routine

    1. Explore and hoover up every barrel, box, and pickup in a zone.
    2. Battle high-level wilds on the way (whole team gets EXP).
    3. Back in town: sort your junk into the correct trash bins for big team-wide EXP.
    4. Feed Riso del Bosco to whoever’s lagging.
    5. Spend the Stat Points immediately โ€” unspent points are wasted power.

  • Best Starter Animon in LumenTale: Memories of Trey (All 5 Ranked)

At the start of LumenTale: Memories of Trey you pick one of five starter Animon in the Anispace โ€” and each one represents a different Attribute. Thereโ€™s no wrong answer for a casual playthrough, but if you want the smoothest early game against the first bosses, one starter stands out.

Short answer: Ozelash is the strongest overall pick. Hereโ€™s why, plus how all five compare.

The five starters at a glance

    StarterTypeQuick verdict
OzelashElectricBest overall โ€” rare early typing + damage-boosting Attribute.
MewaiiVirusStrong โ€” hits several early bosses effectively.
QuecchaGeoGood, but has a strong catchable alternative early.
VortailAura / WaterDecent coverage, weak in key early fights.
SalabelDemonLeast recommended for the early game.

Why Ozelash is the best starter

Ozelash is Electric-type โ€” an element thatโ€™s uncommon early on, so you wonโ€™t easily replace it by catching something else in the first few hours. More importantly, Electric attacks are effective against the first two bosses, Iotamor and Pymant, as well as the first Lumen Squadron leader Denaโ€™s Mollupom. It also carries the Furor Attribute, which directly boosts skill damage (see our Attributes guide) โ€” meaning it hits hard and hits the right targets right when the game asks you to.

    The other four starters

    Mewaii (Virus) โ€” a very strong runner-up

Mewaii is Virus-type and effective against the first two bosses, Iotamor and Pymant, plus several of Denaโ€™s Animon. If you prefer its Felicis (healing) support flavor, itโ€™s a comfortable, safe choice for the early game.

Queccha (Geo) โ€” good, with a caveat

Queccha is a solid Geo starter, but the early game hands you a strong alternative: Mollupom, an excellent Geo Animon you can catch during the prologue. That overlap makes Queccha less essential than it looks.

Vortail (Aura / Water) โ€” decent coverage

Vortail gives you flexible Aura and Water coverage, which is nice for general exploration. Its weakness is timing: it struggles in some key early battles, being weak against Pymant and against Knequital if you head north.

Salabel (Demon) โ€” the hardest sell

Salabel is the least recommended starter, largely because its Demon typing doesnโ€™t line up well with the early challenges the game throws at you. Pick it if you love the design more than the min-max โ€” itโ€™s still perfectly playable.

Does your starter choice lock you in?

Not really. LumenTale is built around catching a full team, so your starter is only your first partner, not your only one. Browse everything you can add in the Animon Dex, and learn the capture basics in our How to Catch Animon guide. Even the “worst” starter is fine once your roster fills out.

    Frequently asked questions

Who are the five starters in LumenTale?

Mewaii, Vortail, Ozelash, Salabel and Queccha. You choose one in the Anispace at the start of the game.

What is the best starter in LumenTale: Memories of Trey?

Ozelash is the most-recommended pick โ€” its Electric typing is rare early, effective against the first bosses, and paired with the damage-boosting Furor Attribute. Mewaii is the strongest runner-up.

Can you get the other starters later?

Your starter is your first partner, but you build a full team by catching Animon throughout Talea, so youโ€™re never limited to one creature.

Starter recommendations reflect community consensus (including Game8 and LumenTale community guides) for the early game. Your ideal pick can vary with playstyle and difficulty.
