Rainbow weather is the rarest weather condition in LumenTale: Memories of Trey — and the only one that gates an evolution outright. If you are chasing Chromaura, you cannot skip it. Here is how to find a rainbow, what it does in battle, and the quest that guarantees one.
🌈 What Rainbow Weather Is
Rainbow weather is a rare condition that can appear in any area of the world map. While it is active it buffs every Animon in battle, and it is a hard requirement for two specific evolutions. There is no way to force it through normal play — but there is a side quest that guarantees it (see below).
How to tell a rainbow is active
- A rainbow appears in the top-left corner of the screen and stays there for the rest of the in-game day.
- The weather symbol beside the minimap also shows the rainbow indicator.
How to make one appear
Rainbow weather spawns randomly with no guarantee of where. The practical method is to hop between areas and check the indicator each time. Saving and reloading also helps, so keep a save handy and reroll rather than walking laps.
⚔️ Rainbow Weather Effects
While a rainbow is up, all Animon — including enemies — receive these buffs:

Because enemies are buffed too, a rainbow is not a free win — it is a swingier fight. The crit buff in particular cuts both ways.
🎫 The Guaranteed Rainbow: “Singing in the Rainbow”
If area-hopping isn’t working, there is a shortcut. The side quest “Singing in the Rainbow” guarantees rainbow weather on completion.
- Unlock: finish the main quest in Paradine City.
- Where: the Lumen Barracks, behind the Stadium.
- Who: talk to Cinque, standing beside Elio.
⚠️ The catch: the quest asks you to hit Moka with specific elements, drawn from Water, Electric, Fire, Aura and Ice Holoken powers. The elements requested are drawn at random, so in practice you can often finish it without owning all five — and the Ice Holoken is post-game only. If Ice comes up and you don’t have it, reload and reroll the request.
🔮 Minube × 6 → Chromaura
This is the headline reason to care about rainbows. Evolving Chromaura requires all six colours of Minube in your active party during rainbow weather.
- Collect all six Minube: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue and Purple.
- Put all six in your party — Minube sitting in the Anidex box will not count and the prompt won’t trigger.
- Get into an area with rainbow weather.
- Select any one of the six to evolve. Whichever you pick, Chromaura inherits that Minube’s stats and level — so choose your strongest.
⚠️ All six Minube are consumed. You lose the entire set to gain one Chromaura, so finish levelling your chosen Minube before you evolve.
💥 Chagma → Gongbog: Use the Crit Buff
Chagma evolves into Gongbog by landing 5 critical hits in a single battle — a genuinely fiddly condition. Rainbow weather raises crit chance for everyone, which makes this dramatically easier. Line the two up rather than grinding it under clear skies.
Chagma has a second, opposite branch worth knowing: missing 5 times in a single battle evolves it into Natmiss instead. Rainbow weather boosts accuracy, so if Natmiss is your goal, hunt it in anything but a rainbow.

Can I force rainbow weather without the quest?
Not reliably. Area-hopping and save-reloading are the only methods until “Singing in the Rainbow” is available.
How long does it last?
Once an area has rainbow weather, it holds for the rest of that in-game day.
Are there other rainbow-gated evolutions?
Only Minube → Chromaura requires it outright. Chagma → Gongbog doesn’t require a rainbow — it just gets much easier under one.
