Notes
Dolegamii has a particularly interesting name, likely derived from several sources. The element “Dol” may come from the Italian word “dolce”, meaning “sweet” or “gentle.” “-ega” could be inspired by a Japanese term related to smiling, while “-mi” is a common Japanese suffix often associated with beauty, elegance, or femininity.
The top of her head appears to resemble a mollusk shell, possibly that of Bolinus brandaris, a sea snail historically used to produce the famous Tyrian purple dye. This connection may have influenced the coloration of her Lost version. Her lost version have some patterns which look like some kind ancient writing. The lost mollusk shell seems to be more like an musical instrument or maybeto amplify the song as a horn.
The small brooch on her outfit is more speculative, but it may be inspired by the symbol of Hermes, particularly through the wings and orb-like ornament that resemble elements of the caduceus or can be some fins to conserve the style of a ribbon (present on all previous evolutions). Her robe may also draw inspiration from the costumes worn by dancers and singers, or more modern diva-like stage outfits. Combined with her graceful appearance and elegant gloves, these design elements reinforce an image of sophistication, beauty, and performance. The developers confirmed she was inspired by a mermaid.
